Senior Java Developer

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer for our client in Zurich, an established company which provides services, consultancy and products for financial and industrial clients, including a number of global Fortune 500 companies.

You are an experienced Java Developer within financial services and you are able to work independently or as part of small groups in the development and delivery of software components and services.
Your mastery of technology allows you to build prototypes quickly to help support business development and to build high quality robust products. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of multiple projects and provide technical leadership to other engineers in software design and development. You will liaise with clients and technology partners to identify requirements and define technology architecture. You are confident and articulate and possess excellent presentation skills. Your excellent multi-tasking and time management skills complete your profile and ensure your success.

To be a successful candidate, you must fulfil the following requirements:

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Applied Sciences
Excellent computer programming skills, particularly in core Java/J2SE, Hibernate, JUnit/BDD
Knowledge of Matlab, web programming (HTTP, REST, HTML, JavaScript, ZK, d3) or any RDBMS are a plus
Knowledge of any core banking system a plus
Language skills: English (professional proficiency) and German (working proficiency)
Solid understanding of financial instruments and their characteristics
Effective project management and time management skills
Eligible to live and work in Switzerland
