Senior Java Developer

SNR SOFTWARE ENGINEER/DEVELOPER (JAVA)

My client, a leading financial services organisation, are looking for a Senior Java Developer for a contract position.

As a Senior Java developer you will have the opportunity to work with leading technologies including NOSQL Databases and the latest service orientated technology stacks. You will work in collaboration with Data Analysts, Database Development and Data architecture. Participating in an agile development methodology, the developer will support technical design, development, testing and delivery activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, implement, deliver and support web services and Java applications meeting demanding business requirements in an agile environment
- Follow and evolve development processes for coding, unit test, code review, performance tuning and environment release.
- Produce quality, maintainable code
- Adopt and develop continuous integration processes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related subject
- 5 or more years as part of a large technology organization
- 5 or more years hands-on experience in Object Oriented Design, Java and JEE development
- Experience using application Servers such as Tomcat.
- Hands-on experience using Restful and SOAP services.
- Hands-on experience using the Spring Framework.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL)
- Experience in unit-test automation.
- Java Build tools (Maven, ANT)
