Senior Java Developer

Are you an experienced Senior Java Developer?

Do you strong JBoss experience?

If yes on offer is an opportunity to work on a new government scheme, which will consist of two Java web applications using struts and deployed on a JBoss platform.

As the Senior Developer you will be building and adapting some java components for the applications and mentoring other Java developers in new technologies.

The role is offered on a 3 Month rolling contract based in SouthEnd at a rate of £375 - £405pd.

The Role/Individual

* Experienced Java enterprise developer (worked on various Java enterprise applications)
* Experience in building server-side web applications and detailed understanding and experience of front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS)
* Good working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
* Writing store procedures for MySQL - understanding of relational databases (mysql, oracle)
* Experience in using Struts 2 and Spring along with working knowledge of LDAP and JAAS.
* Ability to learn new and old technologies rapidly, and embrace change
* Working knowledge of Weblogic application server

As a developer you will work within a multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, analysts focussed on one or more products or projects.

* Day-to-day you will be responsible for working with that team to design, create and improve new and existing products, platforms and transactions across government.
* The main responsibilities of the post are:
* Building web applications to serve a variety of citizens' needs.
* Implementing APIs for internal and external use.
* Building up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment.
* Being involved in the wider web development community, identifying good practices we can adopt and sharing our experiences.
* Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers
* Taking part in 3rd-line support of applications and platforms, including occasional support outside of office hours
* Mentoring Java developer trainee and providing knowledge transfer in tools he has experience in.
