Senior Java Developer

Link Technologies is seeking a Sr. Java Developer for a 6-month contract position with our client in Washington State.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and develop internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or Business Intelligence systems, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
- Lead moderately complex projects, often mentoring and providing guidance to team members at Developer 1, 2, or 3 levels, and work under the guidance of a Developer V on complex projects.
- Translate business, and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.
- Utilize development skills to build (code) and test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.
- Develop application support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.
- Build and unit test production deployment packages and implementation plans for scheduled systems enhancements.
- Facilitate/lead reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead.

User Interface side vs. Back End development:

- Java, J2EE, Webservices, Database and Spring.
- Additional experience with XSLT, XPath, JQuery, Grails and Hibernate preferred.
- Strong web UI development including JavaScript/CSS/HTML technologies.
- Strong analysis and design skills and experience with J2EE design patterns, especially OOAD.
- Different software development methodologies such as Agile and waterfall.
- Able to take high level concepts and turn them into designs/specifications
- Good communication skills and ability to express ideas/concerns.
- Able to take ownership and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in version control tools preferred.
