Job description:
- The NCS Programme are looking for an experienced Program/Senior Test Manager with extended knowledge of agile testing to focus on leading the testing and take overall test accountability for the program.
- As Program/Senior Test Manager you work across different areas and countries in the Nordics to mature testing and drive improvements together with the delivery teams. We are working with distributed teams, so excellent communication skills and working experience with offshore teams is important.
- Professionally you are one of the best in your field and a recognized expert in facilitating the testing process, including test planning, control, analysis and design, implementation and execution, evaluation and reporting and closure activities. When you interact with different stakeholder groups, you are able to involve all in the process and can facilitate the group to agree and reach the goals.
- In the daily work you will support our development and test teams with guiding them through the test process, training them in testing disciplines, facilitating workshops, take part in backlog grooming together with our product owners to ensure efficient testing is part of this.
- You will take an active role in improving testing and defining and implementing the test strategy and test goals.
Job content:
- The Program/Senior Test Manager will be extremely visible, and will be engaged upfront, attending workshops to understand the requirements and provide experience in testing such that it builds faith that deliveries will achieve high quality.
- The Program Test Manager develop a Test Strategy and a Plan to deliver it, gain sign-off from the relevant stakeholders both internally and externally, then deliver upon this - both through gathering upstream inputs and through the execution of large suite of tests by delivery teams.
Tasks to be handled in the program are:
- Introducing and ensuring testing disciplines across the program.
- Involvement in project initiation ensuring testing is considered in all aspects
- Definition of test approach, strategy and plan documentation including test timelines
- Ensure the creation of test scenarios throughout the requirement gathering and creating stages
- Presentation of test strategies and plans to senior stakeholders and the program team
- Co-ordination of testing activities both internally and externally ensuring delivery within time, cost and quality for the program
- Accurate and comprehensive reporting on testing progress/issues and remedial action
- Develop strong and effective working relationships with Project management, Business Analysis, IT Development/Support, test teams and vendors
- Resource Planning and Estimation
- Maintain the testing of a portfolio of projects within the program
- Ensure consistent process.
- Engage with central process roles and peers to ensure alignment with department standards
- Promote Quality Assurance
- Continuous focus on test process improvement throughout the project duration
Professional skills:
- You have more than 8 years of experience within test management and an ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification. You must be an expert in using Quality Centre (11.5) and preferably also have knowledge on Jira.
- You have extended experience in implementing the test process in an agile development environment. You can drive testing deliveries and coordinate people to reach the agreed test strategy and testing goals. By using your experience in structured testing and your knowledge on agile practices you shape and convey this knowledge into actionable test deliveries in the teams. You have excellent experience in introducing and ensuring testing disciplines across projects.
- Your people skills are very good and you inspire and motivate people to take part in the work while at the same time being able to facilitate and achieve results to reach a goal. You handle conflicts openly and take part of making the decision process transparent. You can understand and care for people with different needs and demands.
- It is natural for you to take responsibility and use your people skills along with communication and analysis skills to drive a task. Collaboration and communication across business and IT is easy for you and you enjoy working with people from different cultures.
- It is important that you have a structured but also somewhat pragmatic approach to implementation of standards, methods, practices and tools and is able to understand the principles behind in order to make things work in practice.
- Since you are the best within your field and will work with others who are the best in their field it is important that you have a good sense of humour and understand that we work as a team. We work hard, but are also having fun together.
