Senior IT Project Manager - Must Have PMP

We're looking for a SENIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER with strong experience in Infrastructure and Security projects for a premium contract opportunity with a worldwide financial services corporation. Candidates must be capable of quickly assembling and leading cross-organizational, high performance teams, creating a collaborative environment and executing with a sense of urgency.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity
- Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements
- Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve
- Drive efficiency by utilizing client Project Management Methodology, processes and tools
- Efficiently navigate organizational structure to identify impacts, stakeholders and authorities
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders; hold regular cross organizational management briefings
- Lead boldly and utilize hard and soft skills to influence participants of all levels towards the common goal
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
- Maintain meticulous records of projects and programs financials, issues, risks, decisions, schedules

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

- 10+ years of large scale project management ($5m+) experience required
- PMP certification required
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
- EXPERIENCE MANAGING INFRASTRUCTURE/SECURITY PROJECTS REQUIRED
- Microsoft Project skills
- Large scale financial services experience a plus
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills required
- Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time required
- Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback required
- Expert knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
- Demonstrated independent judgment
- Must sit in Foster City

Duration of assignment is expected to be 12 months with possible extension.
