Senior IT Project Manager: MUST Have CSM & Data Ctr Infrastructure

Our world renowned client is seeking a SENIOR SCRUM MASTER/IT PROJECT MANAGER for a highly visible leadership position within the software development organization ensuring projects and processes are aligned for effective delivery and flow of mission critical, external customer facing, enterprise software development projects. The qualified candidate must be a certified Scrum Master and have experience leading and managing the process for web applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Fulfill the role of the Scrum Master leading multiple teams through the Agile/Scrum process in the delivery of mission critical, customer facing, enterprise software development projects to production
- Coach and facilitate scrum teams through the SDLC using AGILE, SCRUM, and LEAN methodologies
- Remove the barriers between development and the customer so that the customer directly drives development
- Teach the customer or product owner how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum
- Improve the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment
- Improve the productivity of the development team in any way possible
- Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable
- Provide and maintain all necessary external communications and status information for the scrum team
- Ensure the Agile/Scrum process is implemented effectively and provide coaching and training at the team, department, and company levels to maximize its benefits
- Work cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure high quality and timely delivery
- Bring clarity, cohesiveness, transparency, organization, and accountability to projects involving projects involving multiple teams or departments
- Be responsible for planning, executing, tracking and managing costs, schedule, and scope on all projects in addition to designing and managing the project and technical processes in the SDLC
- Contribute to product roadmap planning, scheduling projects for managed teams and coordinating across teams to build a cohesive roadmap schedule
- Improve productivity by improving software development practices within project teams and across the organization
- Identify and manage risks associated with projects and programs to achieve project success
- Identify and implement creative solutions to impediments to keep projects on track
- Improve and facilitate project and software development processes to create agreement and alignment with departmental objectives of productivity, timeliness, and quality
- Drives departmental initiatives and process improvements to achieve higher department level productivity
- Drive the adoption of key engineering practices like Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, etc.
- Coach and mentor Product Owners, Product Development Team and other Scrum Masters

REQUIREMENTS:

- 10+ years' experience in Program/Project Management with at least 5 years managing projects for mission critical enterprise software
- Must have Data Center infrastructure experience
- Strong SDLC management, in particular 5+ years with AGILE/SCRUM/XP development
- Scrum Master Certification, CSM required, CSP desired
- 5+ years software development experience with knowledge of Object Oriented technology and design patterns
- 3-5 years' experience with online/E-commerce, payment processing, and/or financial systems
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- MBA strongly preferred
- PMI, PMP certification or equivalent
- 1-2 years' experience in Lean software development practices preferred
- Must have experience leading and managing release process for web applications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate a team towards achieving a common goal
- Excellent facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence change at all levels
- Experience with successful management of several multi-team, multi-year enterprise projects at the senior level
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of competency using SCRUM practices

This contract position is expected to be 1 year in duration.
