Senior IT Change Manager

Randstad IT Professionals is actively seeking a Senior IT CHANGE MANAGER for one of our major clients in Basel. The candidate will be designing and implementing measures in the area of configuration/change/release management and processes. The responsibilities also include introducing and updating the required methods and standards, systems and tools.

MAIN TASKS

- Designing and implementing measures in the area of configuration/change/release management and respective processes and standards 
- Evaluating, recommending and implementing tools and systems for configuration management, change management and release management
- Designing, planning and implementing of the change management and release management processes
- Creating and implementing configuration management, change management and release management plans 
- Processing and implementing of change requests. Coordinating the changes during creation, testing and implementation. Checking the changes after implementation.
- Performing configuration audits, change reviews and reviews of the release planning.
- Creating management reports

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The RNC CONFIGURATION/DEPLOYMENT Manager would report to Informatics Project Manager and work with Technical and Test Leads to define, document and manage configuration requirements and standards for code management.

The detailed tasks would include:

- Ensure proper usage of the version control system (Subversion) and the code is checked in with descriptive comments.
- Works closely with Development team leads, TPMs and SMs who need to enforce that standards are followed
- Monitors how code management is performed
- Document and communicate standards to relevant stakeholders
- Be the single point of contact (SPOC) for all changes into Non-Production environments ie major/minor releases, system upgrades, system patches etc.
- Have a holistic view of changes and ensure that all aspects of deployments, both technical and non-technical, are covered
- Coordinate deployment communications, preparations and confirm deliverables ie release notes, IQ/OQs, etc.
- Ensure that the system meets informatics quality standards
- Reduce production operational issues at the outset of production releases
- Minimize impacts for production releases and in case the need requires, allow recovery actions to quickly take place in a controlled and planned manner ie the proper rollback procedures are followed to restore the environment in the previous state.
- Provide control for situations where concurrent changes are occurring
- Coordinate all project teams associated with the current deployment
- Facilitate team communication to ensure that all deployment components are implemented according to a schedule
- Proactively suggest activities to improve process, delivery and quality
- Establish basic communication standards and processes between Deployment Management and other interfacing teams
- Proactively address and plan long term hardware and software resource needs of the team.
- Must be fluent in English language.
- This role requires flexibility to work extended hours as needed in order to meet the needs of a global project.

THIS IS A 6 MONTHS CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY.
