Senior IT Business Analyst

The SR. IT BUSINESS ANALYST is responsible for understanding business process management and business requirements of their customers, and translating them into specific functional requirements. The Sr. Business Analyst works with stakeholders from all business units and related parties to define and document business processes and software requirements for technology initiatives

OVERVIEW

- Meet with key business stakeholders and project members to document business and functional requirements.
- Work as a liaison among business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information, and information systems.
- Prepare business requirement documents, use cases, process models and supporting business rules. Coordinate requirements walk- through and signoffs with stakeholders to ensure that documentation accurately portrays business needs.
- Provide peer reviews for other Business Analysts within the Business Analyst group for business/functional requirements use cases, business rules, and related workflows.
- Work with Quality Assurance to ensure appropriate test plans are developed. Assist with testing efforts as required.
- Assist with the evaluation of changes being proposed in current software systems.
- Remain informed of technological advances being made and proposed in the financial services industry that could add to the company's services or improve efficiency.
- Research new product developments to determine best course of action and analyze profitability.
- Serve as a contact for department heads as they propose system enhancements or program changes to improve operational efficiencies.
- Work on large projects and programs and act as a Business Analyst Team Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 -10 years related experience
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or managerial experience
- IT experience necessary and financial services experience preferred
- Business analysis thought leader with comprehensive knowledge of requirements management methodologies and business requirements elicitation
- Strong and demonstrated team leadership skills
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Broad knowledge of industry and/or business trends for own area
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize team workloads
- Comprehensive understanding of financial services policies, procedures, products and industry practices
- Strong working knowledge of SDLC, and PMLC
- Excellent and demonstrated skills in meeting facilitation, relationship management, leadership, critical thinking, technical writing and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio or comparable software

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
