APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE ABOVE THREE YEARS AND 11 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT/ROLE BASED IN DUBLIN.

BACKGROUND

EirGrid plc, a state-owned company, is the electricity Transmission System Operator (TSO) and the wholesale Market Operator in the Republic of Ireland. In the role of TSO, EirGrid is responsible for the operation of the power system including scheduling, demand-forecasting and dispatch of generation, the development and maintenance of the transmission network and providing open access to all customers, generators and suppliers.

In fulfilling its Market Operator function, EirGrid partners with SONI Ltd (System Operator Northern Ireland) to operate the new Single Electricity Market for the island of Ireland. In March 2009, EirGrid acquired SONI Ltd from Northern Ireland Electricity. EirGrid is committed to providing high quality services to all our customers and stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

EirGrid's business is information intensive with IT demands from both within the company and from external clients. The successful applicant will contribute to the overall success of IS by providing a single point of contact and delivery responsibility, within IS, as the service provider to customers of specific applications and services.

EirGrid IS have recently completed a system migration from Dynamics AX2009 to Dynamics AX2012 R2, as a result, initial focus will be concentrated on the ongoing support & maintenance of this application. This role will involve working as part of the current support team to ensure that current and future service levels are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Second and third line support of a wide range of applications across the EirGrid Group, including deployment, support and maintenance where required, with initial focus on Dynamics AX 2012 (which will include First Line Support responsibilities when required).
- Liaise with and manage support from external 3rd party suppliers and contractors, including participation in review meetings, contract reviews and SLA tracking and reporting.
- Call logging, prioritisation and tracking numerous issues of varying severity and effectively managing the resolution of all 3rd party supplied and in-house developed applications.
- Dynamics AX 2012 security model design, modification and implementation.
- Provide technical support of ZAP reports implemented alongside Dynamics AX 2012.
- Assist end users in ZAP report building.
- Scheduling and co-ordinating system upgrades for both internally and externally provided systems in accordance with the Group Technology Roadmap.
- Assist in testing new applications, application changes and patches.
- Assist in requirements gathering and the delivery of change requests.
- Assist in the implementation of IT projects ranging from small 'in-house' systems to large outsourced contracts, providing system knowledge and process understanding.
- Assist in the maintenance and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Training Users and Application Support colleagues.

He/she must also be able to work well in a team environment, demonstrate a high degree of initiative and be able to manage own tasks.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

Reporting to the Manager IS Applications, Projects & Support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

- Third Level Qualification in a Computer Science or IT related subject.
- 5+ years in a customer facing application support role.
- 2+ years' experience in MS Dynamics in a customer facing role, with strong Dynamics AX 2012 technical background and functional experience in Finance and Project modules.
- Experience supporting users in a complex application environment.
- Experience working with and supporting business critical systems.
- Excellent decision making skills and an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- A proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

DESIRABLE

- Experience of delivering support to systems within the Utility sector (preferably Electrical).
- Working knowledge of change management.
- Working knowledge of SQL.

It should be recognised that the nature of this post will change over time as the needs of the business change and it is a requirement of the job that the holder will contribute to this development.

Successful candidates must be able to travel if required (including travel to NI).
