Senior Internal Auditor

My client is currently looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join their team to cover maternity.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver audit assignments, reviews and other specialised assignments across the Group, as determined by the priorities agreed in the Quarterly Rolling Audit Plan. Plays a key role in helping the audit team deliver high quality audit work that enable business management to reach informed decisions on identified control weaknesses, and to agree commercially viable actions to mitigate risks.

* Executes audits flawlessly and escalates issues of concern early such that any replanning can be achieved without significant disruption to the objectives of the audit. Adheres to the audit plan, focuses and logistics of designated audit assignments, helps identify potential threats to the achievement of the assignment, and presents practical and achievable options to risk mitigation.

* Delivers high quality audit conclusions and focused audit opinions that positively influence executive stakeholders to embed risk management and internal control practices and to improve the overall strength of the control framework. Delivers clear and comprehensive reports, understandable by all levels of management that may be relied upon in the face of legal or regulatory challenges or disputes

Qualifications:

* Professional auditing, accounting or actuarial qualification (CIIA, ACA, ACCA,) or equivalent business experience desirable. Knowledge/Experience

* Demonstrable understanding of risk management principles and practices.

* Considerable experience of Internal Audit principles and practices, managing internal audit and assurance delivery within a framework of Matrix-reporting and able to provide authoritative guidance to auditors.

* Experience of Accountancy principles and practices.

* Knowledge of Conduct and Prudential Regulatory Risk, Corporate Governance practices and frameworks.

* Knowledge of life and pensions insurance products throughout their life cycle.

* Previous experience in an audit role within the Finance industry is an advantage.
