The Role
Design of instrumentation based on client requirements, client design philosophy, process P&IDs, pipe specifications, engineering standards, guidelines and regulations (ASME, BS etc), and use current best engineering standards.
• Technical bid evaluations.
• Participation in risk Identification/Hazard Analysis, HAZOP, FMEA, and SIL studies.
• Technical analysis and document approval of both in-house and vendor supplied design packages.
• Involvement in Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Development of control system from design to commissioning.
• Attendance at site during construction and commissioning and Management of installation contractors during construction/commissioning.
• Supervising, assisting, training and mentoring less experienced engineers and recommending training requirements.
• Participation in engineering reviews
• Preparation of Company Standards and Procedures
Qualifications
Qualification in Instrumentation Engineering
Experience & Competency
• Word & Excel
• Competent in one or more Computer Aided Design (hereafter CAD) packages, preferably AutoCAD and have the incentive and desire to learn others.
• Significant EC & I Engineering & Design experience in the Oil and Gas industry, working within constraints of fixed budgets and man hours
• Experienced in the design of low voltage systems
• Knowledge of design codes, safety compliance requirement, & integration of design & operation needs.
