SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER (DV CLEARED)

DURATION: Initial 6 months

LOCATION: Hemel Hempstead

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Steria Recruitment Ltd (a Steria company) provides recruitment and resourcing solutions to Steria, a leading European IT service provider.

Steria requires a DV cleared Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical support to maintenance and development of a bespoke Windows based system for one of Steria's government clients.

This role requires the successful candidate hold a current DV Security Clearance. 

SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as part of a small team, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:

- Accountable to the Service Manager for the support and maintenance of the Reference & Live System delivering the customers application environment in line with Best Practice processes and procedures within the GSA and in accordance with the security standards applicable to the system
- Responsible for handling service requests, undertaking investigation and pursuing incidents to resolution
- Development of technical solutions
- Responsible for the production and maintenance of system documentation
- Responsible for undertaking security health checks, and implementing necessary actions to prevent security breaches or issues
- Production of the system service report and attendance at the Service Review meetings
- Development in conjunction with other team members of proposals (technical) to meet new, or enhanced customer service requirements

SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER EXPERIENCE

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have knowledge the following technical skills:

- Microsoft Office 2003
- Microsoft SQL Server (various versions to 2010)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2008
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory & policy management
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Windows networking
- Terminal Services

Desirable

- HP Server hardware
- Isode M-Switch (X.400)
- Isode M-Vault (X.500)
- McAfee Epolicy suite
- Network Node Manager
- Trend Web appliance
- VMWare

Experience of working with government clients and customers would be an advantage.

On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to DV level. This role complies with national security vetting requirements.
