Senior Information Officer

Senior Information Officer; London; 3 months; £200/day

My client, a public sector organization is urgently looking to recruit a Senior Information Officer to help promote the UK in Promoting the Governments industrial strategy and maximising opportunities for small firms, government engagement and relationship management. The role will be at the London office, however will require regular travel to Liverpool.

Your role will be to ensure that this set of events raises awareness of Government message on Industrial Strategy and supporting small business. This will involve working across and communicating a range of policy areas and priorities.

You will actively communicate with delegates; showcase the offer to small businesses and the highlight the impact that Government has to support them. It will also be important to link messages and activity to the wider government offer for small businesses.

The ideal candidate must have a background in PR Agency work with some experience of working in Government or similar large organisation

Key responsibilities:
Raise awareness
Produce and deliver a project plan
Overall co-ordination, management and promotion
Develop partnerships
Prioritise and develop communications activities

Security Clearance:
BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)
Must be available immediately with a current DS in place

Additional Information:
It is important to note that, with two months to go, this will be an intensive task.
The post holder will need to hit the ground running and have strategies to build relationships quickly and to prioritise communications ideas effectively based on cost and capacity to deliver.
There will not be any direct line responsibility for this post, and you will need to draw on the support and expertise of a range of colleagues in order to deliver
This will require you to be resourceful and to marshal people without position power
