SENIOR HR ADVISOR

LOCATION: Blackpool, Leeds or York

DURATION: 3 months [initially]

SECURITY CLEARANCE: BPSS and Disclosure Scotland

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY:

This assignment will be working with one of Sopra Steria's important Health Sector clients. You will work through Sopra Steria Recruitment for Sopra Steria, the UK's leading Outsourcing and Technology Company.

This is an excellent new short term assignment that can be based at either Blackpool, Leeds or York that will help deliver key short term projects whilst ensuring HR business as usual services continue to be delivered.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo a security clearance process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with line managers in the business to assess needs and deliver and evaluate HR initiatives that enable them to achieve their business objectives, are legally compliant, and reflect best practice.
- Advise and coach managers on how best to interpret and apply HR policies and processes to ensure that they are applied correctly and do not expose the Company to risk (financial, reputational) but are adapted to the individual case and support the line manager in achieving objectives.
- Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations issues, supporting managers in using the full range of HR policies eg grievance, disciplinary, to ensure matters are handled appropriately and in line with legislative and company requirements.
- Identify operational issues with existing processes and policies and notify the relevant HR Manager or Specialist to ensure that the matter is addressed and/or built into future plans.
- Develop and implement HR projects to increase organisational effectiveness.
- Develop and deliver training courses and other learning events to employees/Managers to reinforce or launch HR related activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal parties (eg employees, senior Managers, HR teams) and external parties (eg recruitment suppliers) to ensure compliance with the SLA and that a high level of HR service is provided.
- Meet with staff where appropriate to explain the implications of HR Policies for themselves, providing support and guidance where appropriate.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

- Ability to communicate effectively with more senior and more junior colleagues.
- Ability to present to or deliver training to groups of 10 to 20 colleagues at a time.
- Ability to juggle priorities and meet administrative deadlines amidst a busy work schedule.
- Ability to deliver HR projects and to motivate yourself whilst working without close supervision.
- An understanding of relevant employment law and good practice.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

- Membership of a relevant and recognised professional body eg CIPD.
- An understanding of client HR policies and procedures.
