We re looking for a strong GreenPlum Database Expert combined with sharp conceptual and analytical thinking. Extensive knowledge of BI/DW architectures and experience in implementing data warehouses. S/He will be a part of the Database Architecture/Administration group and will primarily support Greenplum database implementation and Database activities, including Scripting, automation of routine tasks, performance tuning and other DB activities.

The successful candidate should have a working experience with Large (multi-terabytes) Greenplum database implementations along with:

- Polymorphic Data Storage, including tunable compression and support for both row and column oriented storage within a database
- Multi-level Partitioning with Dynamic Partitioning Elimination
- High Performance gNet for Hadoop
- Dynamic Query Prioritization - Workload Management
- Self-Healing Fault Tolerance and Online Segment Rebalancing
- Simpler, Scalable Backup with Data Domain Boost
- Performance and Health Monitoring and Alerting
- Greenplum Database Extension Framework and Turnkey In-Database Analytics

The responsibilities will include but not be limited to: requirement gathering, installation, capacity planning, database physical design, architecture and implementation of large infrastructures, developing complex Shell Scripts, preparing specifications and defining best practices and standards, Backup and Recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors or Masters degree
- 8+ years of DBA experience with 2+ years of GreenPlum DBA experience
- Deep technical knowledge of Greenplum Database and related technologies
- Working knowledge of DB2 LUW, Hadoop and/or Oracle a plus (DB2 preferred)
- Experience with data warehouse a plus
- Experience with DB performance monitoring and tuning, DB backup and recovery, and DB change management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one s time
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
