Senior Front End Developer

Seeking a Senior Front End Developer for our Advertising Platform Department. We are looking for someone who knows how to hand code, but also understands user experience. The candidate should be a bridge between visual designers and Back End developers. The candidate is also a self sufficient champion of web standards and a proactive and collaborative team member that is always willing to jump and lend a hand to their coworkers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Stay up to date on latest techniques, by online research, reading articles/books pertaining to Front End dev, or by even trial and error coding with different frameworks.
- Help educate other departments and team members on web standards and latest techniques by way of lunch and learn presentations.
- Continuously document Front End standards, techniques, and process.
- Perform thorough native browser/device testing using virtual machines.
- Translate Photoshop files with near pixel perfection.
- Ensure that user requirements are met in all web components through design and HTML development.
- Maintain consistency of site appearance via use of style guides, style sheets and enforcement of established standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with designers/Back End developers to implement HTML/CSS code.
- Participate in prototype development for usability testing.
- Participate in QA of HTML code and progressive enhancement.

- Solid understanding of, and ability to, hand code HTML/CSS.
- Ability to code W3C valid accessible standards compliant markup.
- Ability to code using semantic markup.
- Working knowledge of source control systems svn and git.
- Working knowledge of how to employ the jQuery library for visual effects, event handling, and document manipulation.
- Working knowledge of Graphics Tools (ie Photoshop).
- Working knowledge of Debugging Tools that also aid in performance optimization (ie web developer tools, PageSpeed, Charles).
- Ability to problem solve HTML/CSS layout and size constraint issues and create unique solutions.
- Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery.

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Working knowledge of Bootstrap Framework, LESS and RWD best practices and techniques.
- Ability to code within templating framework if needed (ie slim, angular, jade).
