Senior Food Technician Job

SENIOR FOOD TECHNICIAN needed for LONG TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Norwalk, CT.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Three to five (3-5) years of overall professional experience in product preparation
- Responsible for leading research, conducting trials/experiments, gathering data and reporting findings on assignments/projects in the food industry, (preference for baking) that are moderately complex.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Technical competence in formulating new products, optimizing existing products, planning and completion of assigned projects from concept to production.
- Records, collates, evaluates and interprets experimental data and makes appropriate recommendations to his or her supervisor through written or oral reports.
- Detailed understanding of functionality of ingredients.
- Conducts research to advance technical knowledge or solve technical problems essential to product development, food applications or process systems.
- Possesses advanced knowledge of our customer products and processes and applies this knowledge to the development product specifications.
- Identify critical product attributes, optimize production parameters and communicate to suppliers.
- Support Food Safety & Quality Assurance to develop specifications, ingredient statements and nutritionals.
- Manage documentation and records in order to ensure that they are complete, current, secure and easily retrievable. This may include designing, organizing or maintaining technical or regulatory records and reports.
- Understanding of customer expectations, project objectives, and target consumer.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Food safety and food labeling compliance expertise.
- Detail-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets
- Must be able to formulate food products.
- Hands-on and professional experience with baking preferred.
- Technical certification or post-graduate training preferred.
