Senior Financial Accountant - Reading

Purpose of the role:

*To prepare financial information for inclusion in accounts and returns for UKIO > companies/products
*To meet accounting, regulatory and statutory requirements in the preparation of financial information

Standard responsibilities associated with this role:

*Take all reasonable steps to ensure adherence to all external regulatory, legal and industry obligations within the business area

*To demonstrate a positive risk and control culture through the active identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and controls within the business area

*To ensure that you understand and adhere to Prudential's Code of Conduct and where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of all mandatory training requirements.

*Ensure all expenditure commitments (orders, contracts, budgets, etc.) and all payments are properly authorised, controlled and monitored in accordance with Prudential UK delegated authority requirements. The responsibilities of expenditure authorisers are documented in the Prudential UK Financial Procedures Manual.

Primary Skills Required

*Systems Literate
*Qualified Accountant
*Experience of working in a Complex Financial Accounting environment
*Ideally from a large organisation
*Life Insurance experience will be a huge benefit

Experience

*Experience of financial reporting standards and emerging regulations
*Experience of MI and report production
*Significant experience of cash and account monitoring
*Significant experience of data analysis
*Working knowledge of life and pensions products, markets and competitors
*Working knowledge of financial services regulatory and legislatory frameworks
*Relevant professional qualification (ie Accountant)
*Understanding of the Statements of Principle and Code of Practice
