I am looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant for our public sector client.

Looking for mix of people with pure financial accountancy work, and people more focused on fixed asset accountancy* Technical role- technically report Understanding of the technicalities of account, potential projects works, potential info gathering

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Significant financial accounting and/or fixed asset accounting experience ideally within government or other large, complex organisation.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

1. Ensure that the Trading Fund operates within the remit as set down in the Trading Fund Order and HM Treasury directives there-under.

2. Maintain accounting policies and standing financial instructions.

3. To ensure the timely completion of the Annual Report and Accounts including management of the National Audit Office (NAO) formal audit of the Agency's accounts. Including taking ownership of the AR&A processes coordinating the work across. Completion of Whole of Government accounts return to HM Treasury. Manage the full audit process (from kick-off to lessons learned including. interim and final audits).

4. Take ownership of the general ledger ensuring that information is properly controlled including appropriate levels of scrutiny to postings and reconciliation of accounts.

5. Provide support to the governance and ensuring compliance with FReM and IFRS. Fixed Asset Accounting

6. Manage and maintain the fixed asset records of the organisation. Specifically ensuring the fixed asset registers are up-to-date, accurate and fully understood.

7. Act as partner to the business for all matters associated with assets, in particular capital investment decisions, impairment reviews and analysis of capital spend.

8. Conducting post implementation reviews of capital projects to ensure benefit realisation is monitored.

9. Managing and controlling the receipt and realisation of grant funding income.

10. Managing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Parliamentary Questions (PQs) and other formal questions put to the Finance Team.

Both roles based in Swansea, but travel to Bristol & Nottingham required
