Senior Finance Manager (DV Cleared)

A leading Government client are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to work on a 5 Month contract based at their busy and secure site in Central London.

Due to the confidentiality of our clients work, the role requires the successful applicant to hold security clearance to DV level or be eligible to undergo the MOD/Defence Business Services National Security Vetting process to achieve this.

TASK DESCRIPTION:

Looking for someone with extensive finance experience of working with and advising budget managers on the delivery of financial targets, and interpreting financial information for senior staff decision- making. This includes business as usual activity and investment projects in the technological field. The work is a mix of financial accounting (propriety, accruals etc) and management accounting (forecasting, business planning). It includes managing a small team of seven staff.

The post holder will be filling the post while a permanent appointment is made. There will be some skills transfer required at the end of the contract but this can be done in collaboration with the finance team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify key financial risks to the delivery programme and budget targets and advise managers on remedial options
- Prepare the business areas investment and resource plans and monitor performance including the preparation of monthly forecasts
- Identify primary costs drivers and efficiency opportunities and work with managers to control and deliver
- Provide the financial management information business managers require to take key decisions
- Monitor and advise on compliance with the organisation's financial regulations, taking action to address weaknesses
- Support the business areas investment programme by reviewing business cases, maintaining asset records and monitoring budget requirements
- Manage a financial training programme for staff with financial responsibilities

EXPERIENCE:
