Senior Exploration Geophysicist GOM

Mid sized independent with both domestic and international assets is looking for a highly qualified Exploration Geophysicist with deepwater Gulf of Mexico experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a challenging working environment and an aggressive company. Responsibilities * Evaluates and interprets 3D and 2D seismic data to define exploration prospects or support field development * Defines reservoir/pay distribution * Assesses resource potential and geologic risk elements to locate exploration or development wells * Provides recommendations regarding geophysical acquisition, processing, attribute analysis, velocity modeling, seismic inversion, and earth model construction * Guides contractor reprocessing occasionally * Mentors less experienced geophysicists * May serve as project leader on assignments that require broad knowledge of geophysics * Supervision of lower level Geophysicists Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a full time basis.
