Role Purpose:
Design, build, configure and administer our client IT Virtual Infrastructure.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support and administer VMware ESX server infrastructure including VMware Virtual Center and peripheral virtualization technologies in patching, backup, disaster recovery, and replication.
- Provide design, configuration and planning support for our client virtual infrastructure.
- Execute change management and provide support for scheduled, planned maintenance.
- Implementation and post-installation responsibilities include technical consulting to end-user community and other infrastructure team.
- Providing virtualization technology solutions to existing problems.
- Support our client virtual environment through issue troubleshooting and migration to future software versions.
- Provide technical expertise for the planning and definition of new system requirements: perform feasibility and performance studies, including benchmark, capacity planning, sizing, etc.
- Support and improve system environment and services (ie capacity planning and automation)
- Write all related documentation (validation docs, systems proposals/recommendation, etc)
- Participate in and leverage virtualization expertise to create a new company cloud management model utilizing new and existing automation tools.
- Participate in data center efficiency improvements using virtualization technologies (P2V and VM density improvement)
- Participate in researching and testing next generation technologies such as HP Flex technology, and additional hypervisor.
- Assist in expanding NIBR virtualization to global model and external cloud solution.
Qualifications:
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional 4 or 5 - Data Center Administration (VCAP5-DCA or VCAP4-DCA)
- 7 years of experience in Windows and/or Linux system administration in a global enterprise environment.
- 5 years of experience of VMWare ESX management.
- 2 years with hybrid cloud expertise ( AWS or other public cloud )
- PowerShell Scripting with PowerCLI
- Fluent in English
