For our customer - a globally operating financial institution - for a duration of 6 months minimum, we are looking for a

SENIOR ENTERPRISE VMWARE SYSTEM ADIMISTRATOR (100%)

As a member of a team of seven you will be responsible for the management of the Swiss VMWare Envioronment, which consists of approx. 4000 VMs on 400 Hosts and support the other admin teams worldwide when it comes to complex questions of running such a large scale environment. The teams cooperate worldwide in a follow the Sun support model. The team generally provides second level support and has the focus on the ESX application layer. The job also includes on-call duty for the ESX infrastructure in Switzerland.

Required skill set:

- In depth knowledge of ESXi 4.* and ESXi 5.* in a large scale enterprise environment on a senior level
- Experience building Servers on ESX platforms
- Understanding of HP & DELL blades and chassis hardware
- Understanding of networking concepts
- Know-how on Windows Server, Linux, Solaris, SQL and Storage (SAN/NAS), Understanding of backup and recovery of VMs
- Knowledge in virtual farm capacity management
- Knowledge of the VM Provisioning process using tools like EVM by ManagedIQ
- Able to manage large global VMWare environments as part of a global service delivery team
- Able to work closely with Engineering group to bring environment to standard
- Proactive investigation of all aspects of environment to minimize downtime
- Scripting-Experience with Powershell and/or Python
- Fluent in English
- Self-consistent, assertive and approachable
- German language skills are an asset

Among the standard admin tasks, your tasks will include:

- Document technical procedures
- Develop scripts to report and solve operational problems
- Evaluation of tools
- Perform P2V and V2V
- Manage global technical projects in virtual platform
- Perform virtual hardware upgrade
- Ad-hoc Performance Analysis
