Senior Enterprise Architect

SENIOR ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT - CONTRACT (ANTICIPATED DURATION OF 1 YEAR)

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the transformation of a mostly siloed and localized set of Big Data' Business Intelligence and analytic point-solutions into a coherent, standardized, cost-effective, scalable, secure and flexible enterprise architecture. The successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics from multiple perspectives: database, compute, information, performance, storage, network, process, flow, integration, security and application. He or she will provide vision, leadership and strategy as well as actively participate in the design, implementation and subsequent operations and support of the enterprise architecture. The successful candidate must be well versed in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud computing, multi-tier, multi-site enterprise BI applications, distributed and parallel data management, partitioning, caching, memory hierarchies, virtualization, horizontal, vertical and hybrid data layouts, storage Servers/appliances, clustering, and replication. The resultant enterprise infrastructure must be high performing, scalable, highly available, robust and secure to support products and services for large, respected clients in the CPG industry. This is a very technical and challenging leadership position requiring the ability to motivate, mentor and work effectively with other functional organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Transform a siloed and localized set of Big Data' Business Intelligence and analytic point-solutions into a coherent, standardized, cost-effective, scalable, secure and flexible enterprise architecture that supports products and services for large CPG clients
- Recommend, architect, design, operate and maintain an enterprise architecture that supports large-scale analytics
- Ensure the architecture is optimized for large dataset acquisition, analysis, storage, cleansing, transformation and reclamation
- Develop standards and methodologies for benchmarking, performance, evaluation, testing, security and privacy
- Perform financial analysis, impact analysis, performance analysis, and security reviews for the enterprise architecture
- Ensure the architecture adheres to enterprise architecture best-practices that meet and exceed security, manageability, scalability, performance, availability, visibility and flexibility requirements
- Provide recommendations, technical direction and leadership for Hadoop and NoSQL technologies as part of the overall enterprise architecture
- Manage and track costs against budgets and continuously improve productivity
- Participate in regular status meetings to track progress, resolve issues, mitigate risks and escalate concerns in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Product and Project Management, Architecture, Testing, Quality Assurance, Operations, Client Services, and executive management to ensure the integration efforts meet release schedules, goals, and objectives
- Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of product requirements documents, technical design documents and functional specifications
- Help architect and design innovative, customer-centric solutions based on deep knowledge of large-scale data and application integration technology and the CPG industry
- Help create solutions that enable our CPG clients to make impactful decisions at their moment of need

EDUCATION:

- Minimum four-year degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related degree program, or equivalent experience
- Master's degree in Business (MBA), Computer Science/Software Engineering or related degree program is preferred

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- 10+ years of large-scale enterprise system development and operations experience
- 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience
- 3+ years working with enterprise data warehousing and Business Intelligence technologies and solutions
- Experience and detailed knowledge of Big Data' technologies (eg Hadoop, NoSQL, BigTable, HBase) and large data sets
- Experience and detailed knowledge of application integration technologies such as ESB's and SOA
- Experience and detailed knowledge of integrating and aggregating large data sets into high-volume Datawarehouse applications using highly-varied and high-velocity data collection systems
- Experience and working knowledge with schedulers, workload management, availability, scalability and distributed data platforms
- Experience and working knowledge with agile/scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlogs
- Experience in technical product road map creation and implementation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement
- Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
