Senior Engineer (Procurement)

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR ENGINEER to join our client in Myerstown, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage assigned capital projects up to $2.0MM. The projects can be for any department at the site.
- Prepare and implement Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) protocols for new equipment installation validation.
- Provide technical expertise to production maintenance mechanics in daily activities and helps troubleshoot problem areas.
- Provide technical input for the Preventive Maintenance program for all production equipment.
- Act as Team leader for interdepartmental project teams.
- Provide technical expertise to production management for equipment evaluation and troubleshooting problem areas.
- Audit equipment vendors, construction services and engineering contractors and make recommendations regarding in-house or external work.
- Prepare equipment specification documents and leads negotiations for new equipment purchases.
- Provide input for capital budget preparation.
- Balance the requirement of the customers and adjusts priorities accordingly.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Make independent recommendations and decisions (in a team environment) regarding selection of capital equipment.
- The individual is frequently involved in problem solving decisions within the technical operation of each production area.
- Serves as a technical consultant to various production groups.
- The incumbent is responsible for evaluating the technical competence of outside vendors and equipment suppliers.
- The incumbent's primary customer is one of the production departments at the site.
- The incumbent must balance the requirements of customers and provide technical guidance and support for the production maintenance staff.
- The incumbent must support other departments in the validation documentation and implementation process for new equipment installations.
- Must provide updated engineering drawings and documentation to the site engineering team in a timely manner.
- Must make regular contact with all levels of employees within the departments on the site. He/she must demonstrate a high level of facilitating skills to reach consensus. Presentations to site management are sometimes required to obtain project approval.
- The position requires frequent contact with outside vendors, suppliers and with other Corporation sites.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- BS Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical, with at least six (6) years of experience in a government regulated industry; OR an "MS" Degree and at least four (4) years as specified above; OR a PHD and at least two (2) years of experience as specified above.
- Two (2) years of relevant pharmaceutical experience required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in equipment selection, installation and qualification/validation is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, plus good organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on customer needs required.
- Good computer skills are required.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Knowledge of database applications and Microsoft Office products is highly desirable.
