Senior Engineer IV

Yoh has a two month contract opportunity for a SENIOR (PROCESS) ENGINEER IV to join our client in the Los Angeles (Metro), CA area.

Job Overview:
This role will develop and optimize manufacturing, assembly and test processes of hydraulic valves, actuators and reservoirs for various commercial and military applications, including nose wheel steering, landing gear control, and general aircraft hydraulic systems. Successful candidates will be able to develop and optimize manufacturing, assembly and test processes in collaboration with project engineers, manufacturing engineers and technicians from the initial design conception through the design phases, up to and including qualification and transition to production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of industrial processes.
- Collaborate with project engineers, manufacturing engineers and technicians to develop, define and optimize manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
- Define, update and maintain process standards.
- Provide feedback on manufacturability and design for assembly and test to design teams during the concept and detail design phases to assure producibility, efficiency, process standard compliance and support design-to-cost.
- Estimate assembly and test duration for new products and establish tact rates.
- Develop, prepare, update and maintain visual work instructions.
- Create and update rework Routers.
- Identify and develop tooling needed for assembly and test of new products.
- PROLaunch (phase gate new product development) process compliance.
- Design-to-Cost achievement.
- Adherence to client's Process Standards and industry best practices.
- Quality and timeliness of process documentation (work instructions, process plans, standards, etc.).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field plus five (5) years of relevant work experience in process development, assembly and test, or ten (10) years relevant work experience.
- Ability to understand design concepts, interpret drawings and solid models.
- Expertise in manufacturing, assembly and test processes, and the ability to work closely with engineers to make use of process capability data in design.
- Experience with CATIA/ProE is preferred.
- Good written, oral and presentation skills.
- Good teamwork.
