Senior Engineer III

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for an ENGINEER III - (SENIOR) to join our client, the world leader in the pharmaceutical industry, located in Elkton, VA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide expertise in supporting the process development, improvement and production of therapeutic proteins, vaccines and other biological products for the Bioprocess group.
- Support current investigations and assist in the improvement of process robustness.
- Independently and proactively execute protocols and experimental objectives in a timely and detail oriented manner.
- Apply their enthusiasm for the scientific process to carry out studies related to the development and improvement of therapeutic proteins and vaccines that will go to market.
- Use techniques such as protein solubilization, refold and protein chromatography (HPLC, AEX, CEX, UPLC, and RP-HPLC) to support the development, optimization and production of biologics and their characterization by analytical methods.
- Employ their strong communication, organizational, prioritization skills, including the skill for listening to others.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, memos protocols, and quantitative analyses.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in a Life Science field of study and eight to ten (8-10) years of listed experience OR a Master's degree in a Life Science field and six to eight (6-8) years of the above listed types of experience OR a PhD in a Life Science field and the above types of experience should apply
- Experience with AKTA and FPLC protein purification.
- Extensive experience with the design and development of protein purification strategies for the development of recombinant proteins or vaccines
- Prior experience with the production and purification protein
- Knowledge of protein purification and biochemical techniques

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

- Preferred: Degree in the field of study of Biochemical engineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Protein Chemistry
