Senior Engineer - Digital and Analogue

To lead a small engineering team taking responsibility, and an active part in programmes for in service data acquisition, telemetry and data acquisition systems.

Essential Qualifications:
- Appropriate Engineering first degree and relevant experience of team leadership and engineering skills, or, extensive demonstrable experience of team leadership and engineering skills.
- Chartered status of an appropriate institute.

Knowledge, skills and Personal Qualities Required:
- Experience of people management and associated performance management tools and target setting the design, - Development, integration and testing of hardware and systems against agreed timescales, cost and quality
- Broad knowledge of digital and analogue circuit design with in depth expertise of one area
- Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering
- In depth knowledge of systems engineering processes
- Use of CAD packages for circuit schematic and electro-mechanical documentation
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft tools (word, excel, Powerpoint) to generate reports etc.
- Experience in signal conditioning, data acquisition and processing.
- Ability to decompose complex issues to an appropriate level of detail, in a methodical manner, sufficient to delegate to other team members.
- Ability to work comfortably outside area of expertise
- Experience of dealing with customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in low noise small signal analogue circuit design
- Experience in high speed Microcontroller circuit design
- Experience of design using PIC micro-controllers
- Experience of PIC Microcontroller programming
- Experience of wide dynamic range analogue to digital conversion circuit design for micro-controllers
- Experience of mechanical design in an underwater environment
- Experience of software development using Labview
- Experience of schematic design using OrCAD
