Senior Engineer

Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for a SENIOR ENGINEER to join our client, a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry, located in Durham, NC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Investigation of manufacturing atypical events occurring during the vaccine formulation, filling, and lyophilization process
- Lead the investigation of atypical events to determine root cause
- Develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, and will assess the impact of the deviation on product
- Leads investigation of deviations, with responsibility to interface with Operations, Technology, Automation, and Quality approvers
- Responsible for managing the investigations to key timing commitments, with well-investigated and well-documented deviation reports
- Works with the Technology and Quality Approvers to determine the breadth and scope of the investigation to drill to the appropriate root cause, implement corrective actions, complete trending analysis, and determine product disposition
- Fosters a collaborative relationship with operations focused on high quality investigations, meaningful corrective actions and reducing the deviation generation rate
- Determines appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of deviation
- Ensures corrective actions are effective
- Supports achieving atypical metrics for filling product and process deviations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS Chemical Engineer, Bioengineer or Mechanical Engineer
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills, excellent analytical abilities, proven written and verbal communication skills
- Technical leadership will be required to ensure that lyophilized product and process understanding is sufficient to investigate deviations, that investigations are technically sound and meet quality expectations, and that corrective actions are effective
