Senior DSP Algorithm Engineer - 3-6 Months - Contract - Audio

Our client is a global leader in the supply of high performance semiconductor solutions to the consumer electronics market and urgently require a Windows Device Driver Contractor to join their team in Newbury/Berkshire.

The responsibilities of this role will see you working with the product definition teams to create differentiated feature sets; Develop new algorithm or filter designs; Simulate the designs to prove that they perform the desired goals; Measure and optimise algorithm performance; Translate architecture into fixed point designs; Optimise the design to run on custom hardware or DSP core; Develop/contribute to IP methodologies for DSP SW design.

To be able to be successful in this role, you will have a strong academic background; Good mathematical ability; Innovative, creative, lateral thinking; Matlab/Simulink experience, Strong knowledge of DSP processing techniques; Good interpersonal skills; Experience in several of the following: Noise suppression, FIR filter design, robust IIR filter design, adaptive filters, sample-rate conversion, audio signal processing algorithms.

In addition to the above essential skills you will hold a Higher level qualification in DSP; Knowledge of industry-standard DSP core architectures and tool-chains; Strong commercial awareness; Confident verbal and written communicator; Minimum of 2 years C/C++; Experience of implementing audio algorithms on fixed point DSPs or custom hardware; An interest in audio.
