Senior Drilling Engineer and Well Team Lead

Progressive Global Energy has been tasked with sourcing a Senior Driloing Engineer and Well Team Lead to take up an exciteing new role within a major Oil and Gas consultancy based in Aberdeen.

Job description
* To work as a senior drilling engineer / team leader at the "front end" of independent well management projects
* Development of business contacts
* Build and manage client relationships
* Develop well management contracts and tenders
* Develop technical well designs and cost estimates
* Depending on activity levels, lead a team of assigned discipline engineers in the above.

The Well Team Leader reports to the Engineering Manager when working on initial contracting and technical definition stages of a project. The reporting line transitions to the Operations Manager when assigned to an active drilling campaign.

Depending on the number of projects assigned there may be multiple reporting lines.

Main Responsibilities

Project Management
* Act as the AGR point of contact for the client for all matters and issues with the projects assigned
* Maintain good client relationships
* Take ownership of the projects assigned and manage project delivery
* Meet all business objectives by managing the project in line with the contract, e.g. costs are contained within contracted planning lump sum budgets
* Manage time writing and client billing for relevant stages of the project
* Deliver client's technical objectives for the project
* Ensure that the projects are resourced effectively and efficiently.

Engineering

* Lead the engineering design team for projects assigned
* Ensure that the Well Delivery Process is followed and designs are in line with policies and procedures
* Ensure designs and programmes are technically robust and adequately risk assessed
* Ensure that client's objectives, goals, targets and KPIs for the wells to be drilled are met
* Bring innovation and best practice to bear to ensure clients' wells are drilled as cost effectively as possible
* Manage and mentor direct reports and ensure they receive the required development and training
* Manage statutory authority submissions
* Promote a proactive HSEQ culture

Operations

* Provide technical engineering support to the operational rig teams where required
* Participate in any required HSEQ incident investigation
* Participate in the emergency response team
* Participate in weekend duty roster
