JOB PURPOSE AND PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
The purpose of the role as DevOps Consultant is to bring "Dev" and "Ops" closer together and share a plan to implement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (please specify if the position is an individual one or part of a team):
- Identify automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications in data centers and in cloud
- Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations
- Help solve business needs with technology by evaluating different technology options and vendor products
- Define ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organization
- Supervisory/Managerial responsibilities (please specify if the position will have persons reporting to it):
Would require Program Managers, Architects and Developers who can work together with different teams in Citi and share a working plan.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (DevOps).
- Solid understanding and experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems and hybrid cloud environments.
- Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working closely within small teams and large organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of Java based applications.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, TFS.
- Lot of experience with unit testing and automated testing tools

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor/Master degree with an information technology component
- 10-15 years of work experience.
