Senior Designer

WORKING ON A MASSIVE MEDIA TRANSFORMATION YOU WILL DELIVER: INDESIGN OUTPUT CONFORMING TO THE NEW DESIGN VISION FOR PRINTED MEDIA AS WELL AS, ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP OUTPUT TO SUPPORT PRINT DESIGN AND BUILD.

ESSENTIAL

* High Level of experience creating news page design - layout
* High level of understanding of typographical nuance - typography
* High level experience of detail orientated design for chart and list driven graphic content - Agate build
* Ability to work alone to tight deadlines with management oversight from Design Lead
* Ability to work quickly and deadline focused
* HIGH LEVEL OF INDESIGN, ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP EXPERIENCE

DESIRABLE

* Preferable Art Director or Deputy Art Director level, 8 years or more editorial design
* VERY HIGH LEVEL OF ILLUSTRATOR SKILLS WOULD BE VERY BENEFICIAL

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage stakeholder(s) needs and expectations
* Establish and maintain relationships with key business representatives and colleagues
* Quickly understand the nature of the business and any constraints
* Work closely with the design director and other team members
* Able to proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with team members
* Understand expectations that have been set with the business and recognise when issues/events may affect delivery
* PROVIDE DESIGN ADVICE AS REQUIRED TO TEAM MEMBERS ENGAGED IN BUILDING DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS AND CONFIGURING THE NEW EDITORIAL AND PUBLISHING PLATFORM

EXPERIENCE

* Substantial experience creating news page design - layout
* Understanding of typographical nuance - typography
* Experience of detail orientated design for chart and list driven graphic content - Agate build
* EXPERT IN THE USE OF INDESIGN, ILLUSTRATOR AND PHOTOSHOP
