To cover a secondment this leading manufacturer of motion and fluid control technologies seeks an experienced design and project engineer to join their team. The role will involve work in the following sectors: Rail, Life Sciences, Energy, Food & Beverage and Commercial Vehicles.

The primary objective for the position will be the day to day planning and management of new product development projects. This will include supporting the European Key Account Managers to fully understand the customer's needs and translating this into bespoke products and services.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

- The conceptual design, development and introduction of new products into manufacturing
- Managing the whole Product Life Cycle through the internal APQP and NPI business processes.
- Regular reporting on project progress to the Senior Management Team and delivering technical presentations to customers (both internal and external); therefore, domestic and foreign travel is required.
- The design of pneumatic / fluid control components and assemblies.
- The generation of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings utilising design calculations and the application of advanced simulation / CAE techniques.

You will also be required to coordinate the workloads of cross disciplinary project teams and chair individual and team project meetings to generate Intellectual Property, FMEA, DFM, DOE and DVP as well as detailed business cases.
