Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical / Structural) Up to £38,000: Rotherham / Sheffield / Doncaster / Barnsley / Wakefield

Huxley Associates and an exclusive client in the Wakefield / Sheffield / Rotherham / Doncaster area are looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer on a permanent basis as part of their commitment to succession planning and also to meet current and future project & customer demand.

The Senior Design Engineer be working on technically complex and challenging projects & products that require a strong aptitude for Mechanical and/or Structural Engineering, therefore prior experience of 2D & 3D Design, Modelling & Drawing is required as well as previous experience of design for manufacture and proving designs through FEA & Calculations (Load Bearing).

The Senior Design Engineer will be managing projects from design all the way through to manufacture and shipping, so previous project experience is needed as well as ability to work to commercial timescales.

The candidate will come from a Mechanical and/or Structural background and ideally be degree educated.

An understanding of plastics, steel, steel manufacturing would be beneficial as would previous product development experience and experience of working to British & European Standards.
