Senior Design Engineer

I am looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to start on a 12 month contract in Newcastle. My client are a specialist consultancy providing services to a range of offshore clients in the Marine, Oil and Gas and Energy markets

Applicants should have a Degree within Mechanical Engineering (chartered would be ideal.) You must have good experience and knowledge in the following areas:

* Good background within the offshore / marine / oil and gas industries
* FEED
* Understanding of HSE regulations
* Project management
* Identification and screening in development concepts
* Understanding of Oilfield standards
* Team player
* Great Leadership skills
* Strong communication skills written / verbal

Key responsibilities:

* Building client relationships
* Creating new business
* Assist / mentor Junior Engineers
* Provide detailed engineering input during the design phase
* Conceptual studies and modifications of existing facilities
* Contribute to bids and proposals

Software / technical skills should include:

* 3D CAD modelling
* MathCAD (or other Calcs software)
* Orcaflex experience would be ideal
