For our client, Europes leading specialist for payment processing based in Munich, we are currently hiring a Senior Database Developer (m/f)

Location: Munich

Start date: ASAP

Our customer, based in Greater Munich, are one of the fastest growing Payment processing clients in the world. They have had a growth of 300% over the past 2 years and are looking to grow even further over the next year. They are looking for a Senior Database Developer to join a team of 20 - consisting of Developers, QAs and Release Managers.

Your Tasks:

- Support database instances according to defined policies, processes and procedures
- Deployment, configuration, patching and maintenance of supported database systems and related products and automation of such tasks
- Monitoring of operational database instances
- Database design and implementation
- Performance analysis and troubleshooting, database instance tuning and SQL tuning
- Implementation of security standards and procedures
- Develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans
- Automation of various DBA routine tasks, software provisioning and configuration management
- Incident and problem management

Your Skills:

- University degree or equivalent experience
- A good understanding of Oracle, MySQL and Cassandra databases, related utilities and tools
- Must have very strong MySQL/MariaDB experience, and preferably some Big Data/NoSQL database too.
- Proven experience in software development/engineering and good understanding of Google Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts
- Good knowledge and extensive experience in Cloud computing
- Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery scenarios for databases
- Ability to perform both database and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
- Extensive knowledge and skills in programming: Python, bash, Java, SQL and PL/SQL - must have
- Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management software - such as Chef, Puppet, etc.
- A good understanding of underlying Linux operating system and hardware
- Experience in ITIL based IT Service Management and production operations in rigorous 24/7 mode
- Excellent command of English. German is highly appreciated
