DATA PLANNER/DATA STRATEGIST:

We are looking for a talented and exceptional DATA STRATEGIST/DATA PLANNER to work with the with our clients to leverage the power of data to deliver value to their marketing activities

PURPOSE:

They will build key and close relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams to build and evolve data and analytic deliverables for the clients which makes it easy to make business decisions, all based on data and insights.

Working closely with the Strategy teams, the data strategist will be responsible for the strategic delivery and planning of CRM and Insight activities and work towards delivering the clients vision of delivering customer centric marketing. They will liaise with the Analytics lead to ensure that all projects are making best use of available data and identifying new and external data sets to enhance marketing effectiveness.

The candidate should be a team player who is able to work under their own initiative and have excellent problem solving and issues resolution skills. Working with senior stakeholders should come as second nature to the candidate.

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES:

- Build relationships with client stakeholders and internal Wunderman teams to develop data and analysis deliverables for the client
- Develop data strategies and roadmaps to assist with client marketing activities
- Make it easy for clients to make business decisions - based on consumer insight
- Drive strategy across all channels and touch points moving from traditional DM, email and SMS channels to a connected communications plan encompassing digital media including social, mobile and on-site.
- Identify strategic insights that drive better targeting to meet marketing and business objectives
- Manage client expectations and promote planning/analysis & research functions to clients
- Liaise with Analytics Lead for scheduling of projects to be completed by analysts
- Work with account team in development of data driven communications programmes
- Manage and resolve the key data strategy issues involving quality, consistency and growth across customer and prospecting databases'.
- Champion the client business requirements in the data arena especially new data capture processes
- Where and when needed working with client and third parties to identify and advise on external data and how they can be used
- Develop the skills and knowledge within other members of the planning department
- Responsible for strategic delivery and planning of CRM and data and insight activities
- Co-development of analytics and insights services with the Analytics lead
- Responsible for overseeing output of junior team members
- Respond to and resolve any inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with campaign planning where required
- Create and sustain a learning culture in the team
- Ensure day to day work sharing and co-operation between project team members
- Systematically capture the team's work in a way that enables the production of case studies and learning for all including those outside the Ford team.

CORE SKILLS:

- Understanding of the classical analytical techniques - offline and online
- Understanding of customer relationship management, marketing.
- Knowledge of cost justification procedures such as calculating ROI/ROMI
- Ability to co-ordinate multiple projects. Planning and goal setting.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills including demonstrable written communication skills
- Ability to work with individuals at the highest levels within the client and their partners
- Stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business requirements to tangible outputs
- Good inter-personal communication, coaching and teaching skills
- Proven ability to build close client relationships
- Strategic thinker - able to go beyond client's brief to provide holistic thinking to problems
- Highly numerical and high level analytical skills
- High level Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of data planning/strategy experience either client side or agency
- Retail and loyalty experience advantageous
- Multi-channel planning across global CRM programmes
- Solid understanding of CRM systems, process, database and analytics platforms - eg SAS, Unica, Oracle
- Consumer direct marketing experience desirable (database marketing/loyalty/acquisition marketing)
