Senior Data Network Engineer

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

This position will include interfacing directly with the ACS and Client Strategic Planning Team.

This position will work on Data Network Engineering strategy as well as ensuring Xerox strategy is in line with client going forward. This position will have responsibility for the concept, design and planning of the WAN, MAN and LAN facilities. Must be able to quickly asses' current environments and provide adaptive solutions. The environment is almost 100 percent Juniper running OSPF with A10, Trans mode, Aruba Wireless, Riverbed, and some Cisco hardware.

This position will report to the Xerox Sr. Data Network Manager and will be responsible for a variety of activities and strategic efforts within the Data Network Engineering arena. The primary role is to support day to day activity of the WAN, LAN, MAN, Internet and MPLS networks. This position will utilize hands-on knowledge and skills to design, implement, troubleshoot and maintain the Data Network. The position will interact with the customer and vendors to gather requirements develop solutions to meet emerging business needs. The position will be responsible for documenting those requirements and working with the team (customer, vendors, and internal engineers) to meet the customer's requirements and maximize availability of those systems. This position is critical to the day to day support in a 7x24 environment.

This candidate must bring a passion for data networking strategy along with skills to deal with a multi layered business organization.

EDUCATION:

College degree from accredited university (Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science preferred). Technical certification in Computer Science or related telecommunications field is also acceptable. Juniper JNCIE-SP or a Cisco CCIE or equivalent is preferred but dependent upon knowledge may not be necessary.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Data Network design experience - 10+ years
- Voice network design would be a plus
- Knowledge of data networking including TCIP, UDP, RTP protocols.
- Research, recommend, and develop implementation of new technology products
- SLA Management
- Ability to analyze, design and collaborate multiple layer network architectures
- Knowledge of multiple networking protocols
- Knowledge of protocol Analyzers
- Data Network Capacity Planning
- Network Management Systems knowledge
- Operational Monitoring tools knowledge including SNMPv2/v3
- Product life cycle planning
- Product solution management
