Senior Data Engineer (Cisco)

BEACON HILL TECHNOLOGIES IS WORKING WITH A LOCAL CANDIDATE IN THE CLEVELAND, OHIO AREA, TO STAFF A SHORT-TERM, 3 MONTH CONTRACT, FOR A SR. CISCO DATA ENGINEER.

MUST POSSESS 4-5+ YEARS OF PRACTICAL, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING DATA COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE PRODUCTS IN A MEDIUM OR LARGE INFORMATION SYSTEMS ENVIRONMENT.

SKILLS:

- CISCO PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL CERTIFICATION, SUCH AS CCNP, CCSP, CCDP PREFERRED
- Advanced knowledge of CISCO IOS, including file manipulations, back-ups, and restores
- Strong data network design skills, ability to evaluate, design, and implement complex data communication networks to industry best-practice standards
- Thorough understanding of Cisco Router and switch products, including available modules, connectors, power supplies, supervisor cards, and memory
- Proficient with various Cisco SecureACS AAA options, ability to configure both Cisco device and basic ACS appliance settings
- Proficient with various Aruba Switches, controller and Access Points (setup, config, and troubleshooting)
- Proficient with various RIVERBED STEELHEAD WAN accelerators (setup, config and troubleshooting)
- Thorough understanding of all typical WAN protocols, and ability to resolve WAN issues with Telco relating to layers 1 and 2
- Thorough understanding of VPN, IPSec, tunneling technologies, Firewalls, VPN concentrator and other security devices
- Thorough understanding and troubleshooting ability of ARUBA and Cisco hardware for wireless 802.11, SSID, A/B/G/N.
- Thorough understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols, and ability to resolve the most common problems with each
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Visio, Project and various other software packages to perform daily job functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to function in an area where technology, futures and priorities change at a rapid pace.
- Strong customer service ethic is required
- Ability to participate in and contribute to a diverse team-oriented group.
