Senior Cost Accountant

This position (with other team members) is jointly responsible for the timely and accurate execution of various month end closing responsibilities for North America, followed by subsequent post-closing activities and investigations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting for various operational accounting problems, active participation in daily operations of the finance and accounting department, and ad-hoc requests for the functions, sites, and businesses that the candidate supports.

Team members ensure standardization of financial reporting for North America by confirming that all companies are being completed in a consistent manner as well as in compliance with IFRS and internal accounting standards. This team member also assists with FRC testing to prove accounting compliance. For their particular center of excellence, this team member provides a knowledge database and instructional support for the transition of accounting knowledge, processes and procedures to new acquisitions/employees as well as existing accountants who have questions.

This position will lead a team of local participants which has international influence because the team supports all of North America. Due to their pivotal role for North American accounting, this employee may interact with any member of the company in North America, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Parties involved in conversations could include non-accounting personnel (eg Customer Service, Logistics and other Functional Support, and Business team members.)

SKILLS:

Must have 5 years experience as a Cost Accountant

- This individual should possess advanced knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules, as well as accounting processes including cost center and general ledger accounting.
- Should have knowledge of Costing processes, including Standard and Actual costing, BoM's, Routes, Recipes, Fixed Rates and Material Movements in SAP.
- Should possess a working knowledge of general accounting processes including cost centers, income statements, and manufacturing accounting.
- Bachelors degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred).
- Master's Degree and/or professional certification (eg CPA, CIA, or CMA) is a big plus
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Must possess advanced skills in Excel and SAP.
