Senior Contracts Manager

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria are looking for a Senior Contracts Manager will take a lead role in the planning, implementation and management of the main contracts with suppliers for the delivery of the project. This will involve leading on the management of a particular contract (or category of contracts), and ensuring the efficient delivery of all contracts management activities, reporting to the Head of Commercial Management.

Responsibilities:
Lead: the Senior Contracts Manager will lead other commercial and contracts staff, and take responsibility for the delivery of contracts management activities across their category or series of contracts. The Senior Contracts Manager will also have a contribution to the development of the future commercial team required to manage the delivery of the project.
Manage: the Senior Contracts Manager will manage the risks agreed between the parties and contained within the agreement. This will require the Senior Contracts Manager to ensure they are fully-aware of all obligations under an agreement, and to design and implement such systems, processes and procedures as may be required to protect the client.
Engage: the Senior Contracts Manager will engage with a wide range of differing internal and external stakeholders, taking on-board the advice and commentary provided, and responding by ensuring their continued involvement and support of the procurement activity is maintained. Key to this role is an ability to research background and make recommendations on commercial-related matters to senior internal stakeholders, so as to enable the client to make decisions related to the management of the their commercial obligations. In addition, the Senior Contracts Manager will be required to assist with concluding procurement actions and managing negotiations with suppliers and other stakeholders.
Collaborate: the Senior Contracts Manager will be expected to work in collaboration with the wider Transformation Programme and Shared Services Teams, and provide strategic and operational commercial support to the Programme.
Advise: the Senior Contracts Manager will be required to provide current and relevant advice on the latest developments in public-sector contracts and commercial management, and preparing guidance for relevant audiences associated with the Programme. This will require an awareness of the potential for challenges and matters to arise at key stages of the contracts management process.
Deliver to Time: the Senior Contracts Manager will work with others to ensure that the contracts management activity related to all contracts under their control is delivered within the agreed constraints (including those set-down within the contracts being managed).

Essential skills and experience:
Currently working in a similar Contract Manager role
Contract and Supplier Management - the process and skills used to manage the successful delivery of business outcomes (once sourced)
Sourcing - the process and skills required to buy goods and services that will deliver business outcomes
Making Effective Decisions

Desirable: MCIPS, RICS or APM and Project Management experience
