SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in WALNUT CREEK, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Insurer, is looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional writing and strategic communications skills, strategic vision, and innovative thinking to develop communications for the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) division, which includes corporate culture, employee engagement, HR, benefits, project management, and more.
- As a contractor who is part of the Enterprise Communication team, this individual will help refine and execute our communication strategy to create key messages and crisp, audience-friendly communications about topics such as benefits, HR policies, culture initiatives, wellness, volunteerism, and diversity.
- Leveraging communication channels that include weekly e-newsletters, Intranet, email, and presentations, this person will work with various teams to communicate with and successfully engage our 3,600 employees.
- Plan and create effective and engaging content to implement the CAO communication plan, while identifying additional communication needs and opportunities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Clear, logical thinker able to distill and simplify detailed information for broad employee audience.
- Well-organized, efficient, and highly productive individual who meets deadlines and possesses excellent project management skills.
- Strong listening, collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ideally, the successful candidate will have a broad employee communications background including interactive Intranet and employee social media experience.
- Knowledge of and passion for streamlining and innovating, and a willingness to try new communication methodologies, tools and vehicles.
- Interactive Intranet and employee social media experience is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and good judgment.
- S. or B.A., preferably in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline.
- Seven (7+) years of experience in internal communications or public relations in a fast-moving, corporate environment.
