Senior Communications Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assignment of projects, duties and tasks based on the ongoing technical requirements of the Department.
- Running of the IT communications and Voice Over IP network
- An active role in the development of scalable network designs, solutions and policies
- Ensure smooth running of the Department's Global WAN
- Develop scalable network designs and security aware policies, and recommendations
- Support existing applications by understanding application network requirements
- Support and lead implementation of the Department's network infrastructure
- Design & implementation of telecommunications solutions
- Provision of third-tier support

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: CCSP or CCNP S, CCIE Collaboration (written), Fully CCIE R&S Certified (inc. lab), experience of working in a large corporate HQ environment with global footprint

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 5 years with enterprise level network design
- Minimum of 5 years in IPT including design, deploy, support and configuration of
- Enterprise level Cisco Unified Communications Manager in a Clustered Environment including CUCM version 9.X and above
- Cisco IPT running on a UCS Virtualized VMWare environment
- Enterprise level Cisco Unity Connection (Enterprise Voicemail)
- Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Call Centre)
- Cisco Calibro Call Recording
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CME) and integrating it with the CUCM environment
- Cisco Telephony and other Legacy phone systems (QSIG/FXO etc)
- Ringmaster by Softex or CallBill by PhoneWare or other CDR reporting tools

Minimum of 5 years Operational and deployment Experience of Network Management including

- Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS)
- Cisco Prime Network Mangement Solution (LMS)
- Castlerock SNMPc or equivalent
- Paessler PRTG network Monitoring or equivalent.
- RSA SecureID Applicance or equivalent.

Operational and deployment experience of enterprise level hardware including

- Cisco Routers 2800/2900/3600/3700/7200
- Cisco Switches Nexus Series/3750 Series/3750X Series/4500 Series/6500 Series
- Long range and Short range Fiber including SX/LX/ZX
- 10G Fiber Backbone Networks
- Cisco Wireless including 2500 WD Controller and Aironet 11XX Access Points

Network Load Balancing with Kemp technologies, Cisco CSS products, Bluecoat SSL Proxy

Extensive operational experience (at least 5 years) of IP security and encryption technologies

Operational experience of 802.1x authentication standard and network security

High level network routing protocol troubleshooting skills (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP)

Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, GRE, IPSec, VRRP, dot1x, and SNMP protocols.

Extensive operational experience with security issues and access control mechanisms to prevent unauthorised access

At least 3 years' experience with standard network change management and configuration policies.

In-depth knowledge of network monitoring and network administrative tools
