Senior Commissioning Engineer (Process)

Our client, based in Berkshire, is looking to recruit a Senior Commissioning Engineer to ensure resource for whole projects or project areas to meet competency requirements relating to the commissioning.

This is an initial 12 month contract paying up to £56.40 per hour Ltd rate

Key accountabilities
*To ensure the Commissioning resource within the function remain fully competent and qualified to undertake and discharge their roles to the appropriate standards and requirements
*To ensure commissioning records are maintained
*To support the governance of the Commissioning project delivery quality management system

Responsibilities
*To ensure understanding application of all responsibilities with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
*Visible commitment to safety improvement programmes
*Support and maintain a culture of zero accidents or incidents relating to occupational and personal safety, security, health issues and environmental matters
*Communicating to employees and contractors the importance of meeting customer, statuary, regulatory and internal requirements
*Supporting the company and project strategies, policies and management systems are communicated and understood
*Manage and support the delivery of commissioning resource for projects
*Prepare the Commissioning Strategy and Commissioning Assessment documents
*Review Commissioning plans to meet customer and project requirements
*Ensure commissioning procedures are followed and signed off with full and accurate records of the test results
*Ensure the user has operating instructions, maintenance instructions and has been trained to operate/maintain the equipment
*Monitor commissioning records and ensure the configuration control of procedures, manuals and drawings is maintained and all documentation is available for the handover files to the User

Qualifications
*Relevant engineering qualification with demonstrable experience for the role

Knowledge
*Extensive knowledge and experience of commissioning mechanical & electrical services
*Good understanding of plant and process systems
*Nuclear plant experience preferable for work on nuclear installations
*Familiar with the health & Safety At Work Act, Construction Design Management regulations, risk assessment and Safe Systems of Work

Experience
*Extensive commissioning experience of major projects, ideally within a nuclear or highly regulated environment
*Process experience within the commissioning industry
*Experience of maintaining staff competency assessment records

Skills
*Must have relevant skills in the commissioning of mechanical and electrical commissioning services
*Excellent interpersonal and IT skills
