My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a skilled Commercial Officer to join their team in London. As a Commercial Officer, you will be required to provide commercial guidance and assurance to programme activity including running critical procurement. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in managing public sector procurement exercises to tight timescales.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

*Provide commercial guidance and assurance to the programme commercial activity, including running critical procurement and commercial exercises
*Work with CCS team (HMT's procurement provider) to run other procurement exercises to ensure they meet the programme's requirements in accordance with the programme timetable
*Facilitating and where agreed, leading supplier negotiations or renegotiation processes to, ensure legally and commercially sound outcomes
*Provide commercial advice and guidance to the programme team to ensure delivery bodies and suppliers deliver as per agreements and provide value for money
*Defining, and agreeing with the programme team contract implementation and management arrangements
*Provide commercial input into the planning for the procurement of a supplier(s) for the scheme during 2015
*Drafting briefings and submissions for Senior Management and Ministers on commercial issues and seeking approval in relation to specific issues.
*Help plan and manage the programme's commercial activity

Key Knowledge and Skills:

*Experience of managing public sector procurement exercises to tight timescales.
*Ability to demonstrate an understanding of commercial issues to other team members and managers
*Ability to demonstrate effective commercial negotiation skills.
*MCIPS or other relevant qualifications
*Public sector procurement experience
