Senior Commercial Manager

A Senior Commercial Manager is required for a 6 month contract working with a large UK Central Government Department. The Senior Commercial Manager will be working on a pipeline of complex procurements and commercial projects that require the expertise of sourcing and complex transaction specialists. The programme that the Commercial Manager will be involved in provides expert commercial support to deliver and support for contract management teams to deliver on these projects and programmes.

The Senior Commercial Manager will ideally come from a government background, and must have experience on high value, high complex priority procurement programmes with excellent stakeholder management skills. The Commercial Manager must have had sourcing experience for the whole life cycle of a procurement from conception, market engagement, procurement strategy development, specification writing, PQQ/ITT/ITPD production and evaluation through to contract award and mobilisation and be fully aware of the new 2015 procurement regulations.

The successful Commercial Manager for this will have:-
Experience of leading on and delivering the whole or part of complex, high value or high profile projects or programmes

Excellent, current and evidenced technical skills relating to complex transactions (eg finance, legal, analytical, or commercial technical skills)

An ambition to develop their skills further and have a passion share their knowledge and best practice with the wider Department

Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills

Experience in a leadership and people management role In addition, the Senior Commercial Manager will be able to demonstrate a range of expert level skills and competencies in the sourcing skills areas under the Procurement Profession Skills and Competencies or equivalent relevant competencies for their profession.
