Senior Cobol Developer Job

SENIOR COBOL DEVELOPER needed for a LONG-TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION DOES NOT ALLOW FOR WORKING REMOTELY, AS SUCH THE INCUMBENT MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE IN CLIENT'S CHARLOTTE, NC LOCATION.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Senior-level Cobol programming skills
- DB2
- JCL

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This assignment is within the CIS - Western Carolina Team.
- Understanding requirements and developing application enhancements for large scale applications per IT standards
- Creating detailed Cobol application designs
- Coding new functions and enhancements to existing applications per requirements
- Documenting and executing unit test cases for developed code
- Troubleshooting and resolving application defects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- The candidate should have strong design skills with Cobol applications and strong DB2 skills.
- Strong English communication skills are required.
- Minimum seven to ten (7-10) years experience with Cobol
- Strong experience in the following:
- Cobol II
- Debugging/Troubleshooting
- DB2
- JCL
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others
- Solid understanding of exceptions, error handling, transactions

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior experience with the following is preferred:
- Large scale applications
- Customer Billing Systems
- Common functions that interface with multiple Back End systems
