Senior Checkpoint Engineer - Amsterdam - 3 Months

For a large client of TEMPLETON & PARTNERS AMSTERDAM in the Amsterdam Region we are looking for a SR CHECKPOINT FIREWALL ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Lead and support metrics for all Checkpoint Solutions
- Troubleshoot new and existing Checkpoint installations
- Design, implement, support and upgrade Smartcenters and Provider-1
- Design, implement, support and upgrade Firewall infrastructure
- Design, implement & support Site-to-Site VPN's & Client to Site VPN's
- Design, implement and support Check Point Software Blade Technologies
- Design, develop, support and implement Firewall policies
- Design and perform seamless upgrades of existing Management & Firewall infrastructure remotely and onsite
- Help maintain lab of Check Point software R55-R75
- Operate in a team environment as well as self directed
- Collaborates with other team members as necessary to ensure customer service levels agreements (SLA's) are met
- Execute defined Enterprise System strategies to support corporate initiatives

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

- Expert level understanding of SPLAT, LINUX, MICROSOFT, NOKIA preferred
- Expert level understanding of SECURITY
- Expert level understanding of TCP/IP and NETWORKING
- Solid understanding of virtual Router redundancy protocol (vrrp) and IP clustering for high availability and Cluster Control Protocol (CCP)
- Site-to-Site VPN & Client to Site VPN troubleshooting
- Other Firewall knowledge a plus (Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto)
- Working experience performing Security Assessments a plus
- Security Certifications a plus
- CCSA/CCSE preferred

JOB DEMANDS:

- College or technical education preferred or equivalent related experience
- 5 years' experience in a Firewall engineering position
- 3 years' experience with Checkpoint Firewalls including Smartcenter and Provider-1 environments
- Experience with multiple Checkpoint software versions
- 3 years' experience with Nokia Firewall Hardware and Nokia IPSO Software
- Experience with Nokia High Availability Cluster Configuration, and High Performance and Service Level Agreements preferred
